This is my favorite pick of the 2019 NFL Draft for the Ravens. He’s 340-pounds and has a 27-inch vertical. The Ravens now have over 1,000-pounds cumulatively between Brandon Williams, Daylon Mack, and Michael Pierce. Mack figures to be an immediate contributor in goal line packages, and will help keep Pierce and Williams fresh. According to Pro Football Focus Mack was the SEC’s 10th most efficient interior pass rusher. Interior pressure is king in the NFL and the best way to blow up an opposing offense (i.e. the Chargers in the Wild-Card game).Daylon was a standout as a freshman at Texas A&M, then a coaching change and scheme change caused a disappointing sophomore campaign, before he emerged as a valued starter his junior year. Mack plays with outstanding leverage and pad level, using his massive frame to simply devour blockers. The former Aggie explodes through gaps because he stays low. He’s extremely similar to Michael Pierce, staying extremely low coming out of his stance to allow cat like quickness. He needs to improve his endurance, but the Ravens have never had a problem conditioning young players. The 52-game starter has a signature move. He employs a club-swim combo where he batters blockers with his outside arm then shrinks himself to shoot the gap with a swim move. He lacks range with stout arms and suboptimal length, maybe his only missing trait. Lets see what Mack’s film tells us:Daylon reminds me of the Vikings Linval Joseph. He has freakish athleticism for his massive frame. The former five-star recruit will be a classic Raven DT.Rookie Predictions:Daylon Mack will make a crucial stop on fourth-down in goal-line defense. Block eaters Pierce Youth Willie Snead Jersey , Williams and Mack will allow Peanut and company to destroy ball-carriers behind the LOS. Mack will receive 10-20 snaps per game, and will replace Pierce or Williams should they prove to be too pricey to stay in Baltimore.Mack will also enjoy a bevvy of seafood during his time in Charm City: On a day where the Ravens saw the highest of highs and lowest of lows in a single game, Lamar Jackson led the team to a 24-21 come from behind victory. Baltimore trailed 21-13 near the end of the third quarter. Jackson threw an ugly interception and was stopped short on fourth down on the first two drives of the second half. However, he battled back and led the offense down the field two times to amass ten points. With the Ravens now back into the wild-card picture, what will the future hold?1. Joe Romo? Joe Bledsoe? Joe Maddox?One of the biggest training camp and preseason storylines was the “quarterback controversy” in Baltimore. Head coach John Harbaugh, offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg, and quarterbacks coach James Urban all expressed that Joe Flacco is the starting quarterback barring injury. They even kept three quarterbacks on the 53-man roster for the first time since 2009. It was clear that the Ravens’ brass still believed in Joe Flacco. That notion was not entirely false, but Flacco did struggle in his last three games before suffering a hip injury. He led the Ravens to a 4-5 record and threw 12 touchdowns to six interceptions. Although Flacco had horrendous showings earlier in the year against the Bengals, Panthers, and Browns on the road, he was dominant against the Bills and Steelers (week 4). Against the Saints Stitched Robert Griffin Jersey , Flacco led a game-tying drive, where he was six-for-six for 66 yards and a touchdown on that final series. Overall, Flacco’s play left a lot to be desired through nine games of the season. He had equally as many remarkable moments as frustrating plays, including some that an 11th-year veteran should not have made. Regardless, the Ravens now could be on the verge of a legitimate quarterback controversy in the upcoming weeks. Despite Harbaugh announcing that “it will be tough” for Flacco to play next week due to his injury, Baltimore will eventually have to decide which quarterback gives them the best chance to win. 2. Class is in sessionLamar Jackson’s first NFL start ended with a win, but that is not to say that he was flawless. Jackson had a horrific interception, while also displaying some of his weaknesses. He often attempted to make something out of nothing, which in theory is great. However, sometimes throwing the ball away is the best option. Jackson had a similar tendency in college, and some of those plays resulted in turnovers. The other weakness he exhibited was his unwillingness to get out of bounds or protect himself. As the game progressed Youth Robert Griffin Jersey , Jackson improved with his awareness. However, the NFL has shown that quarterbacks who continue this style of play do not have long careers in the NFL. The other issue with the Ravens’ offense under Jackson was the heavy doses of the running game. Unlike the previous nine games, Baltimore had a ton of success in the ground game. They utilized concepts such as zone reads, bash, outside zone, and QB power among others. It worked against the Bengals, one of the worst defenses in the NFL, but against a more talented defense, will it work? The Ravens only attempted 19 passes to 54 rushing attempts. That ratio will not work against some of the high-octane offenses in the AFC. The positive spin on this would be that this was Jackson’s first start, and he was visibly nervous in the first half. He relied too heavily on his legs early in the game, but he was more comfortable in the pocket as the day progressed. Jackson made a couple of big-time throws en route to leading the Ravens’ to a come from behind victory. It was far from doom and gloom for Jackson. He showcased his athleticism Stitched Jordan Lasley Jersey , including a 21-yard run. Jackson is ‘slippery’ in space as he forced several defenders to whiff, but his most significant contribution is what his mere presence does for the rest of the offense. Jackson opened up running lanes for the running backs due to the defense overcommitting to him. 3. Doghouse?After bursting onto the scene last year, Alex Collins has had a relatively quiet 2018 campaign. His vision was always a significant question, and with more responsibility on zone concepts, Collins has struggled. He often hits the wrong running lanes and has failed to make defenders miss as he did a year ago. Collins may have scored a touchdown, but he was replaced by Gus Edwards, who out carried him 17-7. Edwards was perceived to be the fourth running back on the depth chart due to the addition of Ty Montgomery. That was far from the case on Sunday. Edwards finished second in rushing yards and clearly had the lion’s share of the carries. He had an impressive touchdown and also added a 17 yard gain. Along with the quarterback room, there will likely be a couple of changes occurring in the running back room as well.4. Same old Ravens?Following Baltimore’s victory over the Steelers in Week 4, Eric Weddle shouted during a press conference that this is not the ‘same old Ravens.’ The next several weeks did not age well for Weddle as that statement appeared to be false. It looked as if this were the same team in the sense that they failed to score points when they needed to and neglected to hold onto late leads. In week 11, the Ravens blew a 13-7 lead in the third quarter. However, unlike the old Ravens Youth Jordan Lasley Jersey , they battled back and retook the lead. The defense held their ground in the second half after giving up 14 unanswered points. They also made a crucial fourth down stand late in the game. 5. Allergy season?Much like last year, the Ravens are seemingly allergic to guarding tight ends. C.J. Uzomah finished with three catches for 41 yards, while Matt Lengel added a four-yard touchdown. Although those numbers may not jump off the stat sheets, the Ravens continue to struggle to limit opposing tight ends. Whether it is Tony Jefferson, Eric Weddle, or C.J. Mosley, the Ravens just do not have an answer for tight ends. With a slate consisting of some of the top tight ends in the league upcoming, Baltimore will need to find answers sooner rather than later.

Are there any veterans out there to help the secondary?"The Atlanta Falcons are a bit thin at cornerback as the official league year gets going. Desmond Trufant Qadree Ollison Atlanta Falcons Jersey , Isaiah Oliver, Damontae Kazee and Blidi Wreh-Wilson are the only guys around with playing experience, with Ryan Neal a young guy the team thinks highly of and promoted at the end of the season to the 53. Taveze Calhoun is also a practice squadder kept around by the Falcons at the end of year. The team could afford to add some veteran depth to the position, and there are a good number of names still out there on the free agency cycle who could fill that void. Let’s take a look at some names, shall we?Rashaan MelvinDeshawn Shead Neiko ThorpeKayvon WebsterCoty SensabaughDavon House Melvin, 6’2”, has the height the team loves at the position and had a career year in 2017 with the Colts before cashing in with Oakland in 2018 and falling a bit behind, according to PFF. The journeyman corner could very easily take the CB4 role for Atlanta and give them needed depth. He might be a hair pricey, though, for what the Falcons want. Shead is a former Seahawk who played with Dan Quinn and has definite understanding of the scheme. He played for the Lions last season before winding up on IR. He’s another CB4 candidate who could probably sign for the veteran minimum and bolster the depth. Thorpe played safety for the Seahawks last season and earned a 75.8 from PFF for his reps. He’s from Tucker, Georgia, too, so he’s a local. Our sister blog Field Gulls says he was mainly a special teams maven for the team, and that unit’s captain last season. He could play the Justin Bethel role in Atlanta this year. Webster is a special teams guy who could replace Bethel’s role on the roster. PFF graded him out with a stellar 81.9 for his snaps with the Texans last season, and could be a reliable guy to have around should injury strike.Sensabaugh was a draft pick of Ruston Webster with the Titans, who is now in the team’s front office aiding the scouting department. He’s been with the Rams Color Rush Qadree Ollison Jersey , Giants and Steelers as well, earning a respectable 65.7 from PFF in 2018.House is a longtime Packer who always excels on special teams, but only played in three games last year before missing the rest of the season. He’s got experience and is 6’0” to fit the eye test for Dan Quinn. He could wish to rebound on a one-year deal to test his 2020 market. Shead and Thorpe feel like the most likely of the ones listed, and perhaps there’s someone they’re thinking of we haven’t even considered. Are there any you have in mind? For the first time since 2012, the Falcons will be facing the Buccaneers in their season finale. They have rotated between facing Carolina and New Orleans over the past six years. Most of those games had playoff implications. Any chance of this game having playoff implications was erased in early December. Both organizations are looking to reload after disappointing seasons. With clear flaws on both sides of the ball, each team has plenty of work to do to challenge the Saints at the top of the division.Dan Quinn’s team does have an opportunity to end the season in a productive manner. Winning their last three games would give them solace in how they responded after enduring a five-game losing streak. The level of competition isn’t strong, but the quality of opposition shouldn’t hold much value in these circumstances. The Falcons were arguably the worst team in the league from Week 10 to Week 14. For them to respond with two definitive wins holds some credence. While it won’t save the jobs of certain coaches and players, another win can help them gain some confidence going into 2019.Takkarist McKinley’s recent surgeIt’s been a rollercoaster season for the 2017 first round pick. McKinley started off the season with an absolute bang. Producing five-and-half sacks in his first six games of the season was one of the few highlights on an otherwise abysmal defense. As the season began to unravel, McKinley became an anonymous figure. The emotional edge rusher stopped generating pressure off the right side. There were signs of him showing a lack of discipline by committing pre-snap penalties and personal fouls. His hand usage wasn’t affecting opposing tackles. If he couldn’t win with sheer power or explosiveness, opposing tackles would stonewall him.His inability to evolve was becoming a legitimate concern. With Vic Beasley failing to show the big-play ability that made him beloved in 2016, the pressure was on McKinley to develop into a consistent force. He hasn’t quite lived up to those lofty expectations, but there are inklings of progression in his overall game. The last two games have been encouraging for his development. A stat line of six QB hits, four penalties drawn, and a half sack over the past two games provides optimism. While the matchups were favorable, the coaching staff needed to see something following weeks of lackluster play. McKinley is starting to produce like he did in late 2017-early 2018.The Falcons desperately need another consistent difference-maker alongside Grady Jarrett. McKinley provides them their biggest hope on the current roster. His raw power and relentless motor always makes him a threat. It’s how he uses his hands, along with his timing off the ball Qadree Ollison Atlanta Falcons Jersey , will usually determine McKinley’s effectiveness. His impressive get off can put tackles in a world of trouble. That was on full display against Marshall Newhouse last week. Left tackle Donovan Smith is known for his lapses, which can play right into his hands. McKinley will need to be wary of Jameis Winston’s playmaking ability, particularly on third down. The enigmatic quarterback leads the NFL in third down success per ESPN’s NFL Matchup. Creating pressure and forcing him to make off-balance throws is how the Falcons’ defense can reduce his impressive conversion rate. Expect McKinley to play a major part in their efforts towards rattling him.Brian Hill takes on a featured roleThe 2017 fifth round pick received his first genuine opportunity to carry the workload last week. It’s been a strange journey for Hill following his brief stint in Cincinnati last season. After initially giving up on him, the Falcons gave him another chance to show his capabilities. Hill’s physical downhill running style gives them a different unique look. They currently don’t have that type of running back on the roster. A player like Hill could help them solve a year-long issue of converting in short-yardage situations. Their woes have become so drastic that Mohamed Sanu running the wildcat is their most effective way to convert on third or fourth and short.Hill didn’t waste time capitalizing on a golden opportunity. On eight carries, he ran with purpose in embracing contact at every angle. Lowering his shoulder to run past James Bradberry showcased his willingness to dish out punishment to make up for his lack of elusiveness. It didn’t take long to realize Hill was playing with a point to prove. Some of his attempts to impress did result in hurting the team. An impressive 21-yard run was negated by a careless personal foul penalty, where Hill got reckless in trying to stiff arm Donte Jackson. Trying to hurdle over Jackson led to an unforced fumble on the next drive putting the Panthers in excellent field position.These setbacks shouldn’t diminish a strong performance from Hill. With more experience, you’d expect a talented back to play with more composure. How he fares on Sunday could play a role in how the coaching staff views him going into 2019. While the young back will certainly get a chance in preseason, the chance to handle a major workload rarely happens on a team with so much talent in the backfield. Tevin Coleman’s status remains unclear, yet it shouldn’t drastically affect the chances of Hill receiving ten carries or more. This is his time to shine against a slowly-improving Tampa Bay front seven. Potential last game for both coordinatorsThere has been a growing discussion about the Falcons making changes across their coaching staff. It shouldn’t be a major surprise, considering how often the Falcons have been out-schemed this season. How they failed to adjust in games against Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Baltimore after poor starts was alarming. To get repeatedly torn apart in a certain aspect of a game doesn’t simply come from a talent standpoint. It reveals the flaws within a coaching staff’s inability to devise legitimate solutions.Despite showing signs of improvement this season, there is enough evidence to suggest Steve Sarkisian is bound to be replaced. The embattled offensive coordinator hasn’t gotten enough out of an offense filled with playmakers. Most offensive-minded coaches would drool over what the Falcons have on paper and build them back into a top-five offense. That hasn’t happened under Sarkisian. Between his frustrating tendencies to not utilizing dynamic players effectively at a consistent rate, Sarkisian has played a significant role in their offensive decline over the past two seasons. He has called two consecutive solid games, but that remains insignificant in the larger scheme of things. Not being able to put together efficient game plans against top defenses has costed the Falcons in several games.Marquand Manuel remains in a similar position. Unlike Sarkisian, the former defensive back has been vocal about his position. It’s not something you often see from coordinators. Manuel is clearly passionate about everything he’s done in Atlanta. The defense was legitimately good last season. Due to numerous injuries and high draft picks failing to play up to expectations Youth Qadree Ollison Jersey , it’s been a disastrous season for a once-promising unit. Manuel hasn’t done himself any favors by sticking with a mostly bland, conservative approach for most of the season. It wasn’t until the game against Green Bay, where the defense started running more blitzes and disguising their coverage looks. Similar to Sarkisian, the late-season positive moves likely won’t change Quinn’s final decision. Both coordinators will likely be coaching their final game in Atlanta. It will be interesting to see if they can out-think what many consider to be a below-average coaching staff in Tampa Bay.Containing Mike EvansWhen it comes to “Falcons’ killers”, it’s hard to look past what Evans has done in recent years. The explosive playmaker has been a matchup nightmare for Quinn’s defense. His large frame, speed, athleticism, and physicality to win against press coverage makes him a difficult matchup for any cornerback. It’s remarkable that his own team keeps him from establishing himself as a top-five wide receiver. That’s how chaotic Tampa Bay has been over the past two seasons. For all their issues, Evans’ consistency is a testament to his deserved status as an exceptional player.It’s difficult to measure how the Falcons will try to limit Evans. Without any playoff stakes, they may decide to try something different. Manuel will likely mix in zone coverage looks at some point to prevent Evans from getting behind the secondary. Will he try to be more aggressive with his approach in forcing players such as Chris Godwin and Adam Humphries to beat them? That could prove to be an issue. Todd Monken is known for being unpredictable by using a variety of different alignments to keep defenses guessing. Every cornerback will get their fair share of Evans. How many times they will face the former second-team All-Pro in man remains the biggest question.The idea of using Isaiah Oliver to cover Evans is something that will be considered. A big reason behind drafting him in the second-round was based on his tall stature and long arms. Quinn has been a long admirer of tall, physical cornerbacks. That was evident when he didn’t waste time drafting Jalen Collins in the second round of his first draft as a head coach. Due to Collins’ transgressions, he had to draft another corner with a similar build three years later. Allowing Oliver to cover Evans can prove to be valuable experience against someone you’d expect to see him match up against for years to come. After witnessing Robert Alford get routinely torched by Evans for years, what is the worst that could possibly happen? Quinn and Manuel have been more ambitious recently. It’s time for them to take it one step further in ending the season on a positive note.

Dion Lewis is approaching 30 and Derrick Henry is entering the final year of his rookie deal. Another running back would give them some flexibility moving forward.I love Justice Hill from Oklahoma State and Trayveon Williams from Texas A&M among the day three options. Kansas State’s Alex Barnes is one of my favorites as well. Wide ReceiverOn Roster: Corey Davis, Adam Humphries, A.J. Brown, Taywan Taylor, Tajae Sharpe, Cameron Batson, Darius Jennings, Devin Ross, Roger Lewis, Kalif RaymondThe Titans are in much better shape at wide receiver than they have been in a long time after the additions of Humphries and Brown. Both should contribute right away. They also push Taylor and Sharpe down to more natural spots on the depth chart for them. Taylor’s deep speed can still be used when needed without having to rely on him in the red zone or critical third downs. Sharpe is in real danger of not making the roster if he can’t beat out Taylor in camp because he doesn’t contribute on special teams and WR5 is most definitely a special teams spot first and foremost on an NFL roster.There is still some pretty appealing receiver talent on the board, including a guy that many would have liked to see taken in round one: Iowa State’s Hakeem Butler. I don’t think the Titans need to double dip here, but at some point, Butler’s 6’-6” frame, 7-foot wingspan, and 4.48 speed is going to be too good a value to pass up. Outside of Butler, Missouri’s Emanuel Hall, Georgia’s Riley Ridley, NC State’s Kelvin Harmon, and Auburn’s Darius Slayton lead a stacked group of day three receivers. That being said, I’d be surprised if the Titans didn’t add something here either on day three or through a priority UDFA. Stanford’s Kaden Smith, West Virginia’s Trevon Wesco, Notre Dame’s Alize Mack, Georgia’s Isaac Nauta, and LSU’s Foster Moreau are among the best available entering the fourth round, but don’t sleep on my guy Anthony Beck from Texas. He had great size/speed testing numbers at the Longhorns pro day and was a mauler in the run game during his time on the 40 acres. A former linebacker that plays with an aggressive physical edge. He’d be a great late addition.Offensive LineOn Roster: Taylor Lewan, Rodger Saffold, Jack Conklin, Ben Jones, Dennis Kelly, Nate Davis, Kevin Pamphile, Corey Levin, Aaron Stinnie, Hroniss Grasu, Austin Pasztor, Tyler Marz, David Quessenberry, Jamil DouglasThe Titans waited a bit to address offensive line in the draft, finally snagging Nate Davis at pick 82. I don’t blame Jon Robinson for waiting given the way the board fell — Simmons and Brown were too good of values to pass up at those spots and at positions of need also — but I’m not 100% sure Davis walks in as a clear day one starter. He might, and that would be great, but I’m not sure it’s a slam dunk for him over Pamphile, Levin, and Stinnie. And I still maintain that Stinnie is a dark horse candidate to push for a starting gig. The Titans probably don’t need to double dip here if they really love Davis though (and all indications are that they do). My guess is they stand pat and let this interior offensive line shake out with the guys they’ve got, but if they do return to this group Oklahoma’s Dru Samia, Ohio State’s Michael Jordan, Mississippi State’s Shaq Calhoun, Arkansas’s Hjalte Froholdt, Wisconsin’s Beau Benzschawel, and Wake Forest’s Phil Haynes are good interior options. Interior Defensive LineOn Roster: Jurrell Casey, Jeffery Simmons, DaQuan Jones, Brent Urban, Austin Johnson, Matt Dickerson, Darius Kilgo, Dee LinerLike wide receiver, the Titans have double dipped here this offseason, adding Jeffery Simmons and Brent Urban. Simmons will almost certainly start the season on PUP so the Titans might still look to add one more piece here if the right guy is available.Texas’ Charles Omenihu is a guy that has really slid down the board after being rumored as a possible late first round pick and probable second round pick through much of the draft process. He’s a bit of a tweener for a 3-4 front, but I think he’d fit best inside in the Titans base defense. Iowa’s Anthony Nelson is a very similar player too. Somewhere between an edge rusher and an interior defensive lineman, these guys have tremendous length and could be chess pieces in the Titans multiple front defense. Both would be great values at this point in the draft. Texas A&M’s Daylon Mack, Washington’s Greg Gaines, and Arizona State’s Renell Wren are some other options that could interest me. They’re all true nose tackles that could give the Titans that rock in the middle that they haven’t had in years.Edge RusherOn Roster: Cameron Wake, Harold Landry, Sharif Finch, Kamalei Correa, Gimel President, LaTroy Lewis This is the spot that seems most likely to be addressed, though Jon Robinson has consistently stated throughout the offseason that he “likes the guys we’ve got there”. Every time he says that I can’t help but think about Sharif Finch. I think there are a ton of signs that the team loves Finch and I can see why.However, that doesn’t mean they won’t spend a pick there on day three. I would imagine they will and there is a good chance that’s where they go at 121 in my opinion. There are some big time talents still out there too, led by Eastern Michigan’s Maxx Crosby. He was a productive college player with monster athletic testing numbers and some good bend on tape. If he’s there at 121, he’s my guy and I really wouldn’t mind a move up to get him. Other top options include Georgia’s D’Andre Walker, Alabama’s Christian Miller, Oregon’s Jalen Jelks, and Oklahoma State’s Jordan Brailford.Inside LinebackersOn Roster: Wesley Woodyard, Jayon Brown, Rashaan Evans, Daren Bates, Nigel HarrisThe Titans are great with the top end of this position with Woodyard, Brown, and Evans making one of the best trios in the NFL Josh Kline Jersey , but they need depth and I think this is a position that’s firmly in play for a pick on day three. The Titans met with a bunch of inside linebackers, but they showed the most interest in Minnesota’s Blake Cashman who remains on the board heading into the fourth round. He’s a guy that I wouldn’t be surprised to see at 121. Alabama’s Mack Wilson is one of the surprises at the top of draft boards as well and would be a great addition to an already good group here. Washington’s Ben Burr-Kirven is another option that the Titans showed interest in during the draft process. All these guys would be key special teams players and depth in 2019.CornerbackOn Roster: Logan Ryan, Adoree’ Jackson, Malcolm Butler, LeShaun Sims, Tye Smith, Josh Kalu, Kenneth DurdenLike inside linebacker, the Titans are set at the top at corner. Butler, Ryan, and Jackson will be the top three with Sims providing good depth behind them. However, with Butler and Ryan both getting older and Ryan and Sims heading into the final year of their contracts, the Titans could use a young corner they felt good about to give them some roster options moving forward into 2020 and beyond.James Madison’s Jimmy Moreland is a guy the Titans showed interest in throughout the process that could be a pick today. Notre Dame’s Julian Love and Penn State’s Amani Oruwayire are sticking out as the top two “fallers” on draft boards right now and should hear their names called early. Oregon’s Ugo Amadi is something of a corner/safety hybrid — similar to how many viewed Dane Cruikshank last year — and could be a fit here. I will personally be rooting for him because he went to my high school (John Overton) here in Nashville. SafetyOn Roster: Kevin seems to like Webb, keeping him around all year and he might get a shot at the roster here in camp, but the team usually keeps five safeties and they’re still short even counting Webb.Amadi, who I mentioned at corner, would be a good flexible piece and you know the Titans love versatility. However, this is another spot with some high profile guys that have dropped. Florida’s Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, Iowa’s Amani Hooker, and Alabama’s Deionte Thompson highlight that group and would be great value picks in round four. The Titans also showed some interest in the speedy Zedrick Woods from Ole Miss during the pre-draft process.SpecialistsOn Roster: Ryan Succop, Brett Kern, Beau BrinkleyNothing to see here, move along. The week of return to health for the Titans continued on Friday. There are only 3 players that have an injury designation for Sunday’s game against the Eagles. David Fluellen and Dennis Kelly are both out. The thing with Kelly is really weird. It sounds like they still don’t really know what’s going on there. Hopefully they get it figured out soon. Blaine Gabbert is listed as questionable. The big names you don’t see on that list, Marcus Mariota, Jack Conklin and Adoree Jackson, will all be ready to go on Sunday. Also, huge congratulations to Jurrell Casey who missed practice today for the birth of his son.On the Eagles side, the names of note are Darren Sproles, who is out, Alshon Jeffery, who is questionable after returning to practice on Wednesday but missing Thursday and Friday with the flu, and Corey Clement who is also questionable. Quarterback Cody Kessler has taken the Jacksonville Jaguars to a new low in 2018.The Jaguars (4-10) have totaled 658 yards in three games since Kessler replaced inconsistent starter Blake Bortles Quinton Spain Jersey , including a season-low 192 yards in a 16-13 loss to Washington on Sunday. It's the franchise's worst three-game stretch of offense since Blaine Gabbert's second year in 2012.But coach Doug Marrone doesn't plan on switching back to Bortles for the final two games of the season, beginning at Miami (7-7) on Sunday."All the players, we're telling them just to be ready to go," Marrone said Monday. "It's hard to evaluate when there's a high level of inconsistency around you."The Jaguars have apparently moved on from Bortles, the third overall pick in the 2014 draft, and want to see whether Kessler deserves to be on the roster next season. Top decision-maker Tom Coughlin and general manager Dave Caldwell traded a conditional seventh-round draft pick to Cleveland to acquire Kessler as a backup in March.Jacksonville is expected to draft a quarterback in April and sign an experienced starter to bridge whatever gap might be needed to get the rookie onto the field. Kessler could remain as a third option. "I've just got to go out there and do my job."Before the Titans make a long-term commitment with a much larger contract, Mariota starts a window Sunday in the season opener in Miami to show if he really is their franchise quarterback. The best rookie quarterback in the 2018 NFL season has clearly been Cleveland Browns #1 overall pick Baker Mayfield K. J. Wright Jersey , who’s helped lead the team to one of its best seasons literally this entire century, which unfortunately still won’t end their playoff drought.Mayfield has thrown for 24 touchdowns and just 11 interceptions, with his first start of the season coming in Week 4 against the Oakland Raiders. The single-season rookie record for passing touchdowns is joint held by Peyton Manning and Russell Wilson, but my personal tiebreaker is Wilson didn’t throw 28 interceptions in the process, so he should be 1A and Peyton listed at 1B. If Mayfield throws three touchdowns on Sunday against an elite Baltimore Ravens defense, the record belongs to him. A pair of TD tosses puts him alongside Peyton and Russ, but to Baker’s credit, he didn’t start all 16 games like those two.In fairness, Wilson’s record was going to be shattered last year based on how well Deshaun Watson was playing. At the time of his unfortunate ACL tear in November just days after his epic duel with Wilson at CenturyLink Field, he’d thrown 19 touchdowns with more than half the season to go. Now it’s Mayfield who has the chance to make some history on the final day of the regular season.If the Browns can beat the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, they would finish above .500 for the first time since 2007, and potentially give the Pittsburgh Steelers a last-minute helping hand to avoid an embarrassing collapse out of the playoffs. From Mayfield’s standpoint, it’ll be easier said than done to get more than one touchdown against Baltimore’s pass defense, as they’ve only allowed 18 all season, tied for third-fewest in the NFL. In their first meeting in Cleveland, Mayfield threw for 342 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT in a 12-9 overtime win. Whether they win or lose D.K. Metcalf Jersey , whether Mayfield gets the record or doesn’t, there is genuine hope for Cleveland that we haven’t seen for quite some time. If Mayfield keeps this up, it won’t be long before “Is Baker Mayfield better than Russell Wilson?” becomes a new dumb talking point moving forward. This is a list of the things that are true about the 2017-2018 Seattle Seahawks, a team that just clinched another playoff berth:All-Pro strong safety Kam Chancellor was injured last season and has been unable to play since. The team signed him to a lucrative contract extension prior to that, which is taking up a significant amount of their cap space in 2018.The team fired offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell and replaced him with Brian Schottenheimer. The first move was applauded by many, the second move was ridiculed by most.The team fired defensive coordinator Kris Richard and replaced him with Ken Norton, Jr. The first move was probably questioned by many and surprising to say the least, while the second move involved a coach who had been fired by the Oakland Raiders, of all teams.The team replaced Tom Cable with Mike Solari. Few didn’t like this.They traded Pro Bowl defensive end Michael Bennett for almost no return and no savings against the 2018 cap. They released All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman. All-Pro free safety Earl Thomas broke his leg in Week 4.Between Kam, Bennett, Sherman, and Thomas, the Seahawks are spending almost $28 million on those four players with virtually no production other than four games from Thomas.They also lost defensive end Cliff Avril in Week 4 of last season and never really found a replacement for him.They waived their first pick in 2017, Malik McDowell, and they’ve still never seen him play for them.They didn’t have a second round pick in 2018. Instead, they drafted running back Rashaad Penny, who has been helpful but contributed very little as a rookie. Third round pick Rasheem Green has done even less. En total, their contributions from the first round of the draft since 2017 is a little bit of Penny D.K. Metcalf Seattle Seahawks Jersey , their return on the second round is some poor play by Ethan Pocic, and the third round is a little bit of production from Green, a lot of starts (but mostly inconsistent-to-uninspiring play) by Shaquill Griffin, inconsistencies from Nazair Jones, not much from Delano Hill, and virtually nothing from Amara Darboh.Basically, if you took away the first, second, and third round by Seattle over the last two years, you wouldn’t change the team by much. In fact, fourth round tight end Will Dissly looked like a steal who could offset that issue but he tore his Achilles.The team also let Paul Richardson (second on the team in yards for 2017) and Jimmy Graham (third in yards, first in touchdowns) leave via free agency. Some fans lamented the lack of compensatory picks and their production could not or at least was not replaced.The team lost Sheldon Richardson in free agency with Richardson saying that their offer was a joke. Instead, they used some cap space to sign Tom Johnson and Shemar Stephen in his place, then released Johnson after Week 1. Some fans ridiculed their handling of the Richardson and/or Johnson situations, and the team has been transparent in their admission of mistakes made. Less loud are the voices of praise that the front office found Jarran Reed in the second round in 2016.As the season approached, it became apparent that number one receiver Doug Baldwin was seriously hurt and that he might not be at 100-percent at any point in the year. Baldwin had one target and zero catches in Week 1, then missed Weeks 2 and 3, before returning in Week 4. In Week 5 Youth D.K. Metcalf Jersey , he had one yard on one target. He also missed Week 14.K.J. Wright was seriously hurt just before the season and has missed all but four games. His cap hit this year was $8 million. The team found a gem replacement in Mychal Kendricks. After three games he was suspended for eight games. When he returned, he broke his leg.Starting running back Chris Carson missed two games with injury.Backup running back Rashaad Penny broke his finger in the preseason and has also missed the last two games.Free agent signee, planned starting tight end Ed Dickson opened the year in NFI, missing six games.Starting cornerback Tre Flowers missed Week 2, further weakening a secondary that had lost Sherman, Jeremy Lane, and offseason signees like Dontae Johnson and Byron Maxwell.Offseason signee D.J. Fluker has missed five games.Germain Ifedi missed Week 16.Dion Jordan was expected to pick up some pass rush production and has done almost nothing.J.D. McKissic opened the year on injured reserve, unexpectedly. C.J. Prosise still couldn’t stay healthy or do anything productive.Jordan Simmons steps in as a solid replacement for Fluker, then goes right onto IR after his second start.Bobby Wagner missed Week 2.The Seahawks schedule has ended up including games against the 9-6 Cowboys, 11-4 Bears, 12-3 Rams (twice), 11-4 Chargers, 11-4 Chiefs, and 8-6-1 Vikings. All playoff teams, if Minnesota wins next week or the Eagles lose. It’s a significant amount of difficult games. The team was 0-2 after two games, 2-3 after five, and 4-5 after nine.They are also ... going to the playoffs. Again.
